CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund 2011 Winners: Joseph Altuzarra, Pamela Love, Shane Gabier, Christopher Peters

Chinese/French American designer, Joseph Altuzarra took home the top honors and a prize of $300,000 at the CFDA/VOGUE Fashion Fund awards last night, marking another success for the 27-year-old designer’s meteoric career.

Perhaps more exciting, is VOGUE editrix, Anna Wintour’s announcement of the China Design Program, a cultural/professional exchange between Chinese and American designers. The idea is to prepare emerging designers for the global market, enabling American designers to learn about manufacturing, marketing and the fashion business in China, and Chinese designers to spend time in the U.S.  Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler will be the first participants next year, it’s not clear who the Chinese designers will be.

Could a VOGUE Fashion Fund for Chinese designers be around the corner?
