Video: Yiqing Yin’s Fall/Winter ‘12/’13 Couture show in Paris.
On one hand, the Asian design aesthetic usually brings to mind conceptual asymmetry, hyper-volume and androgyny, on the other, is cliched, Oriental costume. Chinese-French designer, Yiqing Yin breaks rank with this paradigm while proving that modern doesn’t have to equal Western. Her latest Couture collection retains the cerebral, intellectual curiosity Asian designers are known for, while remaining grounded with luxurious, feminine, and avant garde sensibilities the likes of the late Alexander McQueen. You can find some of her designs at MODEWALK.
